The benefits from nature never cease to end; there is such a never ending amount of education and information when it comes to the gifts from our very gardens.

When people think of a rose, most people think of Valentine’s Day and a perfect gift for any woman, but did you know there is a lot more to a rose than the eye can see?

Rose water was once used as hand washing soap because of its anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties. It is made up of the remains from the distillation process of the rose petals and water. Women have been using rose water for centuries for beauty care; it is believed to slow the signs of aging.

Rose water can be dated back to 10th century Persia and some of the different ways that rose water has been used in the past includes: inhaling (via steam or diffusion) for inner health and eye infections as an antiseptic. It has been known to sooth sore throats by making a tea with the pedals. Further, as a tea it has been known to be good for infections, such as bladder infections, and diarrhea.

It is  suggested and encouraged that people do a bit more research on their own. Using rose water on a daily basis to replace some of the harsh chemical cosmetics (that are psychologically advertised to us all on a daily basis) is strongly recommended. The expensive chemical cosmetics that you currently use will make your skin look older more quickly, its logical. Some of the ingredients include skin drying toxins such as glycerin.

Rose water is perfect as a daily face and body freshener, moisturizer or pick me up. It is also a good thing to spray on the face before a long, or short, nights sleep. There is nothing like adding some nature to nature to keep it all natural and at home. Also, do not be afraid to take a long bath with a bunch of rose pedals in the water, it is one of the best things you can do after a long days work – or play for that matter!

Note: Be sure to read the ingredients list when purchasing Rose Water, some brands are harmful because they come with a number of toxic chemicals. Try to find Rose water that include very little other ingredients.
