(101 Health Steps.com) According to reports, James Holmes, the “shooting at movie theater” suspect in the Aurora, Colorado shooting was on Vicodin which is a drug that has dozens of side effects including neurological ones.

A number of sources including ABC15.com reported that the suspect, James Holmes, was on 100mg of Vicodin and had taken the dose two and a half hours before his shooting spree.

According to Wikipedia.com, Vicodin has dozens of side effects including “unusual thoughts or behavior.” It also states that “Vicodin also has depressant effects on the central nervous system, which may cause irritability.”

In short, it is very clear that if he was on Vicodin, his actions sure match with the “unusual behavior” which is said to may be brought out in individuals who take it. If there is a match to this drug and this incident, the side effects list may have to have one extra side effect to the list as well as a warning along the lines of keeping away from fire arms and heavy machinery.
