(The Telegraph) The European Medicine Agency said that Pandemrix should only be given to the under-20s if they are at risk of contracting swine flu and alternative jabs are not available.

Its announcement comes after studies showed that young people who were given the vaccine were at increased risk of developing narcolepsy, which causes sufferers to fall asleep unexpectedly.

But the British drug watchdog said it would not ban Pandemrix in the young and pointed out that the country’s stocks expire in a few months anyway. Read more

Eating more often helps keep weight down: study

listen Eating more often helps keep weight down: study

(101 Health Steps) On November 21, 2011, The Globe and Mail posted an article titled, “Eating more often helps keep weight down: study.” This study is a great example of propaganda knowledge at its best due to its failures to highlight related facts on the subject.

The article fails to bring to light the facts that eating more often clearly does not give the stomach [and related organs for digestion] a chance to rest. Snacking all day long does not give the stomach the rest it requires [NEEDS]. Similar to running all day without giving your legs and heart a rest all day, the stomach also requires a rest from digesting. It was not designed to digest all day long [and all night long for that matter].

Findings by such health leaders such as Victoria Bidwell (Bidwell V 2009, The Health Seeker’s Yearbook) teaches us how we are to eat only twice a day [and hours before the sun goes down or hours before one is ready to go to sleep]. Two decent sized meals properly divided to total the amount of calories an individual needs per day depending on their size and desired weight, is what has been recommended.

So if an individual requires 2000 calories, the meals can be 1000 each or 500 for the first one and 1500 for the second one [The latter is a better choice, so the stomach can break the fast (break-fast) gently with the first meal]. We fast at night because when we do not eat it is called fasting, which we do each and every night. Of course those meals should be low fat, raw, whole, ripe, fresh, organic (when possible) and plant-based. Read more »

Colon cancer advances faster in men: study

listen Colon cancer advances faster in men: study

Editor’s note: The article needs to mention that this increase of colon cancer in men has everything to do with the fact that men eat more meat than women, and that data and literature shows a very clear and remarkable relationship between diet and colon cancer. The article further needs to mention the foremost authority in cancer/ diet related studies by T. Colin Campbell, PhD and the like and their research that supports the mentioned relationship of diet and cancer. In addition, this article below needs to question the cause instead of the effect or screening as though it were a preventative measure. All screening does is start individuals on drugs earlier and gives those who play God the ability to give their victims an expiry date. Switching to a low-fat, raw, organic, fresh, ripe fruit-based diet may [will] save the trip to the hospital. You are your greatest enemy, and until articles start to do a better job at gathering their information and synthesize data, individuals will continue to be confused with the messages they present to the people, which further adds confusion to society and its future.

(AFP) Men with colon cancer tend to have more advanced tumors than women of the same age, according to a new study that suggests screening guidelines may need to be adjusted for sex and age.Currently, men and women age 50 and older are urged to get a colonoscopy to screen for growths or polyps that could form into tumors. Colorectal cancer is the fourth leading cancer killer worldwide, taking 610,000 lives per year. Read more (but not necessary)

Circumcision and rights

Editor’s comments: Circumcision is an unnecessary, barbaric act with so much literature that proves the procedure as such (This comment is based on research knowledge unlike most readers that fall victim to theoretical knowledge that profits others). However, as much as one may disagree with the procedure, individuals should be allowed to make their own decisions, or should they? There are laws such as wearing a seat belt and against talking on the phone while driving, which are laws designed to prevent danger; however, this law actually prevents the actual cause of danger. One only has to read a little bit of literature (Studies) to understand and educate themselves on the extreme, unnecessary dangers of circumcision. One only has to refer to nature: anatomy tells us that we are born with or develop all we need to survive and thrive in this world, as do other animals; further, how can any religion challenge their creator by cutting something that was provided by “Him?” (This view – opinion – is directed to those who belong to a religion that condones this procedure.) It would have to be seen as assuming that “God” was not perfect to cut a part of “His” creation. For millions of years, the human organism has survived without this unnecessary, brutal act; so why do we have to start cutting it off now? For more information on circumcision search for intact America in your search engine (They are one of the best sources on the subject – some might say one of the world’s foremost authorities), and educate yourself before you do something you might eventually be sorry for. Let us not fall into the trap of doing something just because it is the “norm.” Ignorance is bliss for the ones that benefit from it. As a good scientist, you must first test the hypothesis. And as far as synthetic pot goes… Anything that is not natural from nature in its original state is a threat to our world.

(Los Angeles Times – Oct. 2, 2011) Reporting from Sacramento — Local governments will be unable to ban male circumcision under a new state law signed by Gov. Jerry Brown.

The bill, by Assemblyman Mike Gatto (D-Silver Lake), was drafted in response to a proposed San Francisco ballot measure that would have prohibited any foreskin cutting that was not deemed medically necessary in that city. That proposed ordinance was struck from the ballot by a Superior Court judge in June, amid protests from doctors and religious groups. A similar measure was proposed in Santa Monica but was later pulled back by proponents.

Gatto said his measure, signed Sunday, would “protect parental rights and liberties.” Read more

Corn Syrup: Changing the name to decieve you

listen Corn Syrup: Changing the name to decieve you

Editor’s comment: This article is not really necessary for the avid health buff because health enthusiasts eat whole, fresh, ripe, organic, raw fruits and vegetables in the correct caloric ratio which mimics their physiological needs; however, this article is covered for those millions of people that do not think that corporations would do such things as change name to confuse individuals; further, this article brings awareness to support why mainstream has not yet decided to talk about real healthy diets such as the one mentioned: big corporations have the monopoly. Just to make it clear, this is not the first time an unhealthy substance has been renamed: just take a look at what they have done with MSG and Aspertame over the years – just to mention a few.

(AP) A recent attempt by the corn industry to change the name of a widely used but increasingly controversial sweetener was misleading and could have robbed consumers of important information, a top official at the Food and Drug Administration said in documents obtained by The Associated Press. The comments came last year as the Corn Refiners Association sought clarity over whether it could change the name of high fructose corn syrup to just “corn syrup.” That informal request was subsequently withdrawn and in September 2010, the group filed a formal petition seeking a more radical name change: “corn sugar.” The corn industry is attempting an image makeover for high fructose corn syrup after some scientists linked it to obesity and other health problems and some food companies started touting products that did not contain the ingredient. High fructose corn syrup is present in most sodas and a staggering array of processed foods. Read more
